zǎo早shàng上qī妻zǐ子duì对wǒ我xiào笑le了yī一xià下，shén什me么yě也méi没yǒu有gào告sù诉wǒ我。
In the morning my wife just smiled at me and told me nothing.
wǒ我bù不zhī知dào道wèi为shén什me么，dàn但shì是yě也méi没yǒu有wèn问。
I had no idea why, but I didn't ask either.
xià下wǔ午wǒ我zài在gōng公sī司shàng上bān班，nǚ女ér儿gěi给wǒ我dǎ打diàn电huà话。
In the afternoon, while I was at work, my daughter phoned me.
tā她wèn问wǒ我wǎn晚shàng上jǐ几diǎn点huí回jiā家。
She asked what time I'd be home.
wǒ我gào告sù诉tā她liù六diǎn点。
I told her six.
wǎn晚shàng上wǒ我dào到jiā家，fáng房jiān间lǐ里méi没yǒu有rén人。
When I got home in the evening, there was no one in the room.
wǒ我jìn进fáng房jiān间，dà大jiā家dōu都chū出lái来le了。
I walked in, and everyone came out.
dà大jiā家yì一qǐ起duì对wǒ我jiào叫：“shēng生rì日kuài快lè乐！”
They all shouted at me together: “Happy birthday!”
zhuō桌zi子shàng上yǒu有hěn很duō多cài菜，hái还yǒu有yí一gè个dà大xī西guā瓜。
The table was full of dishes, plus a big watermelon.
qī妻zǐ子zuò做de的cài菜fēi非cháng常hǎo好chī吃，wǒ我chī吃le了hěn很duō多mǐ米fàn饭。
The food my wife made was delicious and I ate a mountain of rice.
nǚ女ér儿sòng送wǒ我yí一gè个xīn新shǒu手biǎo表。
My daughter gave me a new watch.
ér儿zi子sòng送wǒ我yī一běn本hàn汉yǔ语shū书。
My son gave me a Chinese book.
wǒ我fēi非cháng常gāo高xìng兴，xiè谢xie谢dà大jiā家。
I was over the moon, and thanked them all.

My mum called me too, asking whether I was having a good day.

In the evening we watched TV together and everyone was happy.

My friend Li Yue came over to my place too.

She gave me a book, and I love it.
