Yesterday was Sunday and the weather was beautiful.
zǎo早shàng上wǒ我hé和qī妻zǐ子qù去gōng公yuán园wán玩。
In the morning my wife and I went to the park.
gōng公yuán园lí离wǒ我men们jiā家bù不yuǎn远，zǒu走shí十fēn分zhōng钟jiù就dào到le了。
The park isn't far from our home — ten minutes on foot and we were there.
gōng公yuán园lǐ里rén人hěn很duō多，yǒu有xiē些rén人zài在pǎo跑bù步，yǒu有xiē些rén人zài在chàng唱gē歌。
The park was crowded — some people were jogging, some were singing.

A few kids were playing basketball as well.
wǒ我men们zuò坐zài在yǐ椅zi子shàng上hē喝chá茶，kàn看dà大jiā家wán玩。
We sat on a chair, drank tea and watched everyone.
páng旁biān边yǒu有yí一gè个xiǎo小gǒu狗，bái白de的，fēi非cháng常piào漂liàng亮。
Next to us there was a little dog — white, and really pretty.
qī妻zǐ子hěn很xǐ喜huan欢tā它，hé和tā它wán玩le了hěn很cháng长shí时jiān间。
My wife loved it and played with it for ages.
zhōng中wǔ午wǒ我men们zài在gōng公yuán园páng旁biān边de的fàn饭diàn店chī吃le了miàn面tiáo条。
At noon we had noodles at a restaurant next to the park.
nà那ge个fàn饭diàn店de的cài菜bù不guì贵，yě也hěn很hǎo好chī吃。
The food there was cheap, and delicious too.
xià下wǔ午xià下yǔ雨le了，dàn但shì是wǒ我men们bù不xiǎng想huí回jiā家。
In the afternoon it rained, but we didn't want to go home.
wǒ我men们jiù就zài在mén门páng旁biān边děng等le了èr二shí十fēn分zhōng钟。
So we waited by the gate for twenty minutes.
wǒ我men们děng等dào到bù不xià下yǔ雨le了，jiù就zǒu走huí回jiā家le了。
We waited until the rain stopped, then walked home.
wǎn晚shàng上wǒ我jué觉de得shēn身tǐ体hěn很lèi累，dàn但shì是fēi非cháng常gāo高xìng兴。
In the evening I felt worn out, but really happy.
wǒ我de的nǚ女ér儿méi没yǒu有qù去，yīn因wèi为tā她yào要zài在jiā家xué学xí习。
My daughter didn't come, because she had to study at home.
tā她wèn问wǒ我gōng公yuán园zěn怎me么yàng样。
She asked me what the park was like.
wǒ我shuō说：xià下gè个xīng星qī期wǒ我men们yì一qǐ起qù去，hǎo好ma吗？
I said: let's all go together next week, shall we?
wǒ我xī希wàng望xià下cì次hái还néng能kàn看jiàn见nà那ge个xiǎo小gǒu狗。
I hope I get to see that little dog again.
nà那ge个xiǎo小gǒu狗fēi非cháng常yǒu有yì意si思。
That little dog was a real charmer.
