The character 猪
The classical character is 豕 (shǐ) — a pig drawn in profile with a fat body and short legs. 猪 (zhū) is the later, everyday form, pairing the animal radical 犭 with 者 for the sound. 豕 still appears inside other characters, most famously in 家 (home), which is a roof with a pig under it.
